Jonny Peiffer's Sojoy is back with special guest vocalist Stuart Dias, again! They swung and grooved and growled you into the holiday spirit this passed December, and now they're back with some of Stu's originals, Sojoy arrangements of his favorite covers, and some classic Sojoy originals.
Sojoy was up to big things this year. The band released its second album The Adventures of Oliver Z. Wanderkook and performed in the theatrical multi-media production of the same name to sold out crowds. The band also made an appearance at the recent TEDx Piscataqua River performing Peiffer's composition 'If Up's the Word.' (bit.ly/SojoyTEDx)
A "merry band of joyful noise creationists." "Proving that great music still exists even as new traditions are being forged." - Chris Hislop, Portsmouth Herald
"Tightly arranged and swinging like a modern version of John Kirbys Sextet of the 30s." "Utterly charming!" - Jazz Weekly
"The album (The Adventures of Oliver Z. Wanderkook) stands alone as a piece of art ... they maintain their memorable beauty and convey a story all their own. - Austin Sorette, The Sound
Stu Dias is no stranger to the Dance Hall, where he regularly dazzles audiences, whether with the perennial favorite Soggy Po Boys, Shango, or Desert Island Live: Tom Waits. He will sing some Ray Charles, Paul Simon, Talking Heads, and more. Only at the Dance Hall Kittery!
