FAQ’s

  • The fees applied to tickets at TDH are a little different from surcharges at other venues, so here is some helpful information about our fees:

    • TDH is committed to removing the financial barrier to experiencing art by holding affordability and accessibility as organizational tenets. We consistently keep our ticket prices low, ranging from $12 - $40, with ~60% of that revenue going directly to support the artists you see on stage.

    • Our Facilities Fee of $2 per ticket directly supports the operations of our small non-profit organization, and the upkeep of our intimate, 200-seat theater.

    • When you purchase tickets online, know you are supporting not only TDH, but also a local, Portsmouth-based ticketing company (PortsmouthNHtickets.com) that is dedicated to providing an easy and personal ticketing experience.

    • When you purchase a ticket with a credit card, there is a small processing fee charged by the payment processor for the credit card company. This covers the cost of business for offering the ability to pay by credit card.

We appreciate your support of TDH, and thank you for helping to keep this vibrant cultural hub thriving, bringing people together for a moment of breath, connection, and joy through the arts.

*By purchasing tickets, you agree to be added to The Dance Hall’s email list to receive updates on upcoming events, promotions, and important announcements. You can unsubscribe at any time.

  • We recommend you plan ahead to secure the most convenient parking for you. Parking on public roads in Kittery is free with a time limit posted on signage. There is also parking available in the Municipal Lot on the corner of Walker Street and Government Street, and at the adjacent Kittery Public Library (after hours only!)

  • We are unable to issue any ticket refunds except for the following two circumstances:

    • Show cancellation: if a show is cancelled and a reschedule date is not provided, TDH will automatically refund all tickets AND credit card and ticketing fees for the cancelled show.

    • Rescheduled show: if an event is moved to a new date due to inclement weather, artist illness, or any other reason, refunds will be made available to all ticket buyers by email request to [insert email] for a period of three days (3 days) from the announcement of rescheduling. After the 3-day window has closed, refunds will no longer be available and all remaining tickets will be automatically valid for the newly rescheduled date.

If you purchased tickets to a show but can no longer attend, we do offer the opportunity for you to convert your ticket purchase into a donation to TDH. Please email info@thedancehallkittery.org no later than three days (3 days) after the event you were unable to attend and request to have your ticket purchase converted to a gift of support. You will receive a tax receipt via email once this request has been accepted and processed.

  • Seating is by general admission and seats are available first-come, first-served. For select shows where a “Dance Party” is noted, seating will be very limited. We will note this in the event description on our website and on our ticketing platform. When attending a “Dance Party” show, please keep the steps of the risers clear by not sitting in the empty spaces in order to provide safe access up and down. A general rule for “Dance Party” shows, if seats are key, please come on the early side.

  • In general, “doors” open one hour before show time. Please do not arrive before door time– we have lots to do to prepare and get ready, and no early-entry is allowed. TDH does not have a walk-up box office open outside of show hours, so if you need to purchase day-of tickets for an event, it is best to do so either online or by arriving at TDH around the time doors open.

  • We offer a variety of beverages to quench your thirst for purchase at our lobby bar. All drinks are allowed into the theater– we simply ask that you be mindful of your cup, can, or bottle to avoid any spilling on our dance floor. We serve: three, rotating draught beer options; red and white wine; prosecco; Freedom’s Edge alcoholic cider; seltzer water; Spindrift; bottled water; and Woodland Farms Non-Alcoholic canned beer.
